WORCESTER — A fatal pedestrian crash late Monday evening claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left another female victim with less severe injuries, according to Worcester Police Department officials.
At approximately 9:56 p.m., Worcester Police officers responded to a report of a serious pedestrian accident at the intersection of Clover Street and South Ludlow Street.
Emergency responders provided medical assistance at the scene before both victims were transported to a local hospital.
The Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, which involved a vehicle heading south on South Ludlow Street toward Auburn.
The two pedestrians were reportedly crossing the street when they were hit by the vehicle.
After the initial collision, the vehicle continued on to strike another vehicle.
The identity of the deceased woman has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The condition of the second victim has not been disclosed.
Authorities have not yet provided details regarding potential charges or the cause of the crash as the investigation remains ongoing.
