CLAREMONT — Two men were arrested following a high-speed chase that ended in a vehicle crash on Windsor Road, the Claremont Police Department reported.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 18, Patrolman Justin Laffin attempted to stop a vehicle on Plains and Main Streets that had been involved in several previous pursuits.
The driver, identified as Aaron Gobin, 37, of Hartland, failed to halt, initiating a chase that resulted in a collision.
Gobin and his passenger, Colby Bowen, 33, of Windsor, fled the scene on foot but were quickly apprehended by police.
Charges against Gobin include reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, two counts of disobeying an officer, vehicular assault, conduct after an accident, and resisting arrest or detention.
He was also wanted for a probation violation and failing to appear in court on prior charges.
Bowen, found to have an extraditable warrant from Vermont, was charged with being a fugitive from justice and resisting arrest or detention.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured but was taken to Valley Regional Hospital for evaluation.
Gobin and Bowen were detained at the Sullivan County House of Corrections pending their appearance before the 5th Circuit District Division Court in Claremont.
