St. Albans police investigate firearm discharge, assault on Main Street

ST. ALBANS — At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 19, the St. Albans Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting incident on Main Street.

Upon arrival, a joint response team consisting of St. Albans Police Department officers, AmCare Rescue, St. Albans Fire Department, and Franklin County Sheriff’s Department deputies secured the scene.

The initial investigation revealed that while a firearm had been discharged within a residence, no one had been shot.

A person inside the residence was found to have sustained injuries from a related assault.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, which remains active and ongoing.

The police have not released any additional information at this time.
