Autopsy confirms homicide in Littleton shooting

LITTLETON — Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Littleton Police Chief Paul J. Smith released new details today regarding an overnight shooting in Littleton that left 38-year-old Eric Rexford dead.

Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Abigail Alexander conducted the autopsy earlier today and concluded that Rexford’s death was caused by multiple gunshot wounds, ruling the manner of death as a homicide.

The investigation into the events leading up to Rexford’s death is ongoing.

Authorities are piecing together the sequence of events, including why Rexford was chasing a vehicle before the shooting occurred.

Despite the violent incident, officials have not identified any specific threats to the community.

The investigation is also examining whether the shooter acted in self-defense.
