Walden man dies in single-vehicle crash near Kettle Pond

GROTON — A Walden man was killed late Saturday evening when his truck rolled over on VT Rt 232 near Kettle Pond Access.

Vermont State Police responded to the scene around 8:50 p.m. to discover a 2004 Ford F-350 overturned off the roadway.

The driver, Matthew Flood, 34, was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

The road conditions were dry and the weather clear at the time of the accident, according to the police report.

Identification of the operator was initially withheld until the next of kin was notified.

State police were assisted at the crash site by multiple fire departments, including Peacham FD, Plainfield FD, Marshfield FD, Cabot FD, and emergency medical services from Calex.

The incident is under investigation by Trooper William Nally of the St. Johnsbury station.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about the cause of the crash.
