BOSTON — Boston Police Department’s District A-1 officers arrested a 21-year-old man early Saturday morning on charges of armed robbery, assault and other offenses following an incident in the downtown area.

At about 3:11 a.m., on Sept. 14, officers responded to a call at 139 Tremont Street where a meal delivery driver reported being robbed at gunpoint.

Thomm-Lee Janivier, of Boston, allegedly put his hand on his waistband to suggest he was armed and demanded the victim’s phone.

He then called over additional suspects who surrounded the victim, and punched the victim before attempting to flee.

The delivery driver managed to escape in his vehicle and captured the suspect on the vehicle’s rear camera.

Police, familiar with Janivier from prior interactions, positively identified him through the footage.

A subsequent search of the area led to the discovery of Janivier with a group in front of 138 Tremont Street.

Upon apprehension, officers found him in possession of two cell phones, one of which belonged to the victim, and a large plastic bag containing crack cocaine.

Two credit cards not belonging to Janivier were also recovered.

Janivier has been charged with armed robbery, possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs, assault and battery, and receiving stolen property.

He was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court following his arrest.
