Southbury police seek suspects in Shoprite backpack theft

SOUTHBURY — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in a theft at the local Shoprite on Monday morning.

According to the Southbury Police Department, at around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 16, a young male with curly black hair wearing a black hoodie allegedly stole a backpack from the Shoprite lobby.

He was accompanied by a young female with blonde hair, glasses, and a T-shirt emblazoned with “The Cure.”

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects leave the scene in a dark-colored SUV, which may be a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by the female accomplice.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the identity of these individuals to contact Officer Manville at (203) 264-5912.

The Southbury Police Department is keen to gather any details that could lead to the recovery of the stolen property and the apprehension of the suspects.
