ASHLAND — An erratic driver was arrested Thursday evening after failing to stop for a traffic signal and leading police on a pursuit through multiple towns, resulting in various motor vehicle and drug charges.
At around 7:35 p.m., the Ashland Police Department was alerted to an erratic driver entering Ashland from Hopkinton on Route 135.
Officer Connor Dempsey spotted the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Season Gas Station.
The driver initially stopped but then fled the scene, prompting a pursuit.
During the chase, Sergeant Lawrence Rodkey deployed a Stinger Stop Stick at the entrance to the Ashland Public Safety Complex, which successfully deflated the suspect’s tires.
Despite the deflation, the suspect continued into Framingham, striking a Framingham police vehicle without causing injuries.
The pursuit ended near 664 Maple Street in Framingham, where police executed a high-risk stop and arrested 41-year-old Calvin Hodge of Whitinsville.
Hodge faces charges including OUI Drugs, possession of a Class B substance (subsequent offense), and several vehicle operation violations.
