St. Johnsbury teen arrested for DUI, altercation at former Big Apple Store

ST. JOHNSBURY — On the night of Sept. 8, St. Johnsbury Police arrested a 19-year-old man following an altercation and suspected drunk driving incident.

According to the police report, officers responded to a call at 280 Portland Street, the site of the former Big Apple Store, at 10:16 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found Oliver Huntington from East St. Johnsbury in a vehicle with a juvenile female, both engaged in a dispute.

Investigation led to Huntington’s arrest on suspicion of DUI-1 and Criminal Refusal.

The female passenger, a minor, received diversion paperwork for underage drinking.

Huntington is scheduled to appear before the Caledonia Court on Sept. 23 at 8:30 a.m. He was not lodged and no bail has been set, but a mug shot was taken following his arrest.

The St. Johnsbury Police Department has provided no further details on the incident.
