Providence arrests include forgery, obstruction, DUI charges

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Troopers conducted multiple arrests following motor vehicle stops in Providence, resulting in charges ranging from forgery to obstruction and DUI.

At 1:52 p.m., Troopers arrested Ylen Hernandez, 51, of Providence, for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates after a vehicle stop on Charles Street.

She was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and released with a future court date.

Later that night, at 11:20 p.m., Corry S. Darnley, 21, of Cranston, was arrested on charges including obstructing a police officer and outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court.

He was held overnight pending arraignment.

Early the next morning, at 12:45 a.m., Gabriel Montanez, 36, of Providence, was arrested on obstruction charges and a bench warrant for failing to appear in court.

He was also held overnight for arraignment.

Shortly after, at 2:16 a.m., Carolina Cortez, 46, of North Providence, was arrested for driving under the influence with a BAC significantly over the legal limit.

She was processed and released with a date to appear in court.

At 3:25 a.m., Algelys Ventura, 40, of Providence, was arrested on a warrant for disorderly conduct.

He was processed and transferred to the Providence Police Department.

Just minutes later, at 3:29 a.m., Susan J. Marshall, 47, of Lincoln, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant.

She was held as a probation violator.

Finally, at 4:49 a.m., Malik Silva, 20, of Pawtucket, was arrested on a warrant for eluding police.

After processing, he was turned over to the Pawtucket Police Department.
