SWANTON — A 26-year-old St. Albans man was killed early this morning when his vehicle crashed into trees off Highgate Road near Bushey Road.
The Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks received an alert at 2:28 a.m. from Apple Crash Detection about the accident.
Missisquoi Valley Rescue and the Swanton Fire Department arrived at the scene to find a 2023 Subaru Forester at rest off the roadway.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the name of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
The road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the accident.
The Vermont State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
