MARSHFIELD — A Vermont teacher faces a disorderly conduct charge after allegedly drawing on a student’s neck with a permanent marker, state police said.
Kathleen Wheelock, 48, of Montpelier, is accused of using the marker to draw around a juvenile student’s throat on Sept. 5 at Twinfield Union School in Marshfield.
The incident occurred after the student used a permanent marker on a classroom whiteboard, according to investigators.
Vermont State Police began investigating around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 10 when troopers were contacted about the incident.
The student was not injured and reported it to school administrators after leaving the classroom.
Wheelock was issued a citation for aggravated disorderly conduct.
She is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 3 in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Barre.
State police said no additional information is available at this time.
