Plymouth man arrested for domestic assault, vandalism

PLYMOUTH — A 21-year-old transient man, Toryn Deveney, was arrested on Sept. 12 after Vermont State Police responded to a reported vandalism at a combined business and residence in Plymouth.

Authorities were called to the scene on VT RT 100 around 8:58 a.m., where they discovered that Deveney had allegedly caused pain and bodily injury to a 20-year-old person with whom he was in a relationship.

The police did not release the name of the victim, adhering to their policy on domestic violence cases.

During the incident, Deveney was also accused of unlawfully damaging property belonging to 39-year-old Amanda Taylor of Mount Holly, Vermont.

The nature of the property damage was not specified in the police report.

Following the investigation, Deveney was taken into custody and processed at the Rutland Barracks.

He was subsequently released with court-mandated conditions and is scheduled to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, on Sept. 13 at 12:30 p.m.
