CRANSTON — A series of arrests by Rhode Island State Troopers yesterday led to the apprehension of individuals involved in reckless driving, a fugitive from justice, and various criminal charges.
At 10:01 a.m., troopers arrested Tina Verria, 42, of Warwick, for reckless driving—first offense, and disorderly conduct resulting from a road rage incident and subsequent motor vehicle accident on Route 95.
Verria was processed at Lincoln Woods Barracks and later taken to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
Shortly after, at 11:23 a.m., Anthony Vasser, 59, of Central Falls, was arrested as a fugitive from justice on a charge of dangerous drugs from the State of New York.
The arrest occurred after troopers responded to Providence Superior Court and took custody of Vasser.
Following processing at the barracks, he was transported to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment.
In the afternoon, at 1:15 p.m., troopers arrested Quincy Munoz, 28, of Cumberland, on an affidavit and arrest warrant for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance less than 10 grams (Ketamine) and obstructing a police officer in execution of duty.
Munoz surrendered himself at the barracks and was subsequently arraigned in Sixth Division District Court.
The final arrest of the day occurred at 10:38 p.m., when Mario Zabaleta, 37, of Providence, was charged with forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates and giving a false document to a public official.
The arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on Whipple Street.
Zabaleta was processed at the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
