GEORGIA — A mailbox was blown off its post by an explosive device in Georgia, Vermont State Police reported Thursday.
The incident, which occurred on Georgia Shore Road, was first reported to authorities on Sept. 12 at about 8:30 a.m.
Troopers from the St. Albans barracks arrived on the scene to investigate the vandalism after neighbors reported hearing an explosion two days earlier, on Sept. 10, at around 8:30 p.m.
The explosive used in the incident has not been identified, and no suspects have been named at this time.
Local residents who heard the explosion expressed concern, and the police are now appealing to the public for assistance.
Vermont State Police are urging anyone with information related to the vandalism to come forward.
