EAST BRIDGEWATER — A Dorchester man was arrested and charged with stealing a high-value package from a doorstep, East Bridgewater Police Chief Michael Jenkins announced Tuesday.

Arialdys Arias, 38, faces charges of larceny over $1,200 and conspiracy.

He is set to be arraigned in Brockton District Court.

The arrest followed a report of a stolen iPhone 15 Pro from a Stonegate Drive residence on Sept. 5 at approximately 1:55 p.m., shortly after it was delivered.

The theft, captured on home surveillance, prompted an investigation that led police to a white Toyota Scion xB suspected in the crime.

Working with West Bridgewater Police, officers utilized a license plate recognition system to track down the vehicle, which was later stopped by Massachusetts State Police.

Investigators believe Arias was tailing a FedEx truck to target deliveries.

A second suspect, reported to have been in the vehicle during the theft, is also being sought by East Bridgewater Police.

Chief Jenkins praised the collaborative effort, highlighting the effective use of technology in identifying the suspects.
