Springfield man charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest

SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield man faced charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest after an incident that occurred on Sept. 5, according to the Springfield Police Department.

Harrison Rouleau was accused of strangling a victim, causing injury, and later actively resisting arrest when officers responded to the scene around 1:03 p.m.

The confrontation with Rouleau led to a brief altercation, after which he was taken into custody and transported to Springfield Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Following his treatment, Rouleau was apprehended by Springfield Probation and Parole on a Violation of Probation warrant and was taken to the Southern State Correctional Facility.

He was lodged without bail pending a court appearance.

Rouleau is scheduled to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on Sept. 6 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the charges.
