SOUTH WINDSOR — A series of arrests were made over the weekend by the South Windsor Police Department, involving charges ranging from operating under the influence to violation of a protective order.
On Friday at 3:40 p.m., police arrested Connor J. Brenan, 30, of Vernon, following an accident and subsequent hit-and-run at the intersection of Ellington Road and Dart Hill Road.
Brenan was apprehended in Vernon and displayed signs of alcohol impairment.
After failing sobriety tests, he was charged with operating under the influence, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, evading responsibility, and following too closely with an accident.
Brenan was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is due in Manchester Superior Court on Sept. 23 at 9 a.m.
The following day at 9:08 a.m., Gary Sparks, 40, also of Vernon, was arrested after he was found asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle on 1060 Main Street.
Sparks failed a field sobriety test and was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances.
Charged with operating under the influence, use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance, Sparks was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond with a court date set for Sept. 25 at 9 a.m.
Later that afternoon at 3:04 p.m., Richard D. LaFleur, 50, of South Windsor, was arrested for violating a protective order related to a domestic violence incident after contacting the protected individual.
LaFleur was held on a $250,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court today.
Additionally, at 3:45 p.m., Timothy A. Hight, 44, of Manchester was arrested for violating a protective order by having in-person contact with the victim in a domestic violence incident.
Hight was released on a $50,000 surety bond and is also scheduled to appear in court today.
