ERROL — Two truck drivers were injured early this morning when their vehicles collided head-on after one struck a moose on New Hampshire Route 16.

State troopers from Troop F barracks and the Troop G Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit responded to the accident scene approximately 1 mile north of Androscoggin Wayside Park at 6:37 a.m., Sept. 6.

According to the initial investigation, Justin Hallee, 38, of Milan, was driving a dump truck northbound when he hit a moose crossing the road.

The collision caused Hallee to lose control of his vehicle, sending it into the path of a southbound dump truck driven by Jacob Gleason, 22, of Colebrook.

Hallee was transported in critical condition to Androscoggin Valley Hospital.

Gleason was treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
