Truck flips on school soccer field in Greenville, driver charged

GREENVILLE — A Bangor man faces multiple charges after allegedly driving his truck onto a school soccer field, causing extensive damage before the vehicle flipped onto its roof.

Charles Martin, 22, was charged with aggravated criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving to endanger, the Greenville Police Department said Wednesday.

Police and fire departments responded to the Greenville Consolidated School soccer field at approximately 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, where they found an unoccupied truck overturned on the field.

An investigation revealed that the incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. Monday, when the truck drove onto the field, causing significant damage before flipping over.

The vehicle was towed from the scene with extensive damage.

Martin, who was identified as the operator, cooperated with the investigation, police said.
