DERBY LINE — The Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is set to bring a unique musical experience to the Haskell Free Library & Opera House on Friday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m.

Led by violinist and concert host Bella Hristova, the VSO’s string orchestra will perform a program spanning what they call Vermont’s “five seasons.” The repertoire includes works by local composers Nico Muhly and Pete Sutherland, alongside pieces from internationally renowned artists such as Astor Piazzolla, Florence Price, and Antonio Vivaldi.

The performance aims to showcase the musical diversity that reflects Vermont’s changing seasons, offering audiences a chance to experience both local talent and global influences.

In an effort to make the concert accessible to a wide audience, the VSO has implemented a flexible pricing structure. Student tickets are available for $10, while general admission follows a pay-what-you-want model with options at $20, $25, and $30 levels.

The Haskell Free Library & Opera House, known for its unique position straddling the U.S.-Canada border, provides a fitting venue for this celebration of Vermont’s cultural and natural heritage.

Music enthusiasts and community members are encouraged to attend this special event showcasing the VSO’s interpretation of Vermont’s seasonal changes through a varied musical program.
