WORCESTER — A scooter operator suffered serious injuries after being struck from behind by a vehicle on Grove Street Monday night, police said.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:44 p.m. on Sept. 2 when the scooter stopped to allow a family to use a crosswalk, according to a preliminary investigation by the Worcester Police Department.
As the scooter was stopped, a vehicle struck its rear, police said.
The scooter operator was taken for treatment of serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision.
Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved or any additional details about the crash.
