Tractor-trailer rollover shuts down highway exit ramp in Hampton

HAMPTON — A tractor-trailer driver suffered minor injuries in a rollover crash that closed a highway exit ramp for six hours, authorities said Tuesday.

The incident occurred Monday at 7:41 p.m. on the Route 101 eastbound exit ramp to Interstate 95, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Haixuan Guo, 48, of Eastvale, California, was driving a 2017 Freightliner hauling construction materials when he lost control on a curve, causing the truck and trailer to overturn, police said.

The tractor-trailer came to rest partially on the exit ramp and partially on the grass shoulder.

The crash scattered debris and caused a diesel fuel leak.

Firefighters extricated Guo, who was initially trapped in the cab.

He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The exit ramp reopened at 1:42 a.m. Tuesday after crews cleared the scene and removed the wreckage.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including Hampton police and fire departments, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, and the Department of Transportation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
