ANSONIA — A single-vehicle motorcycle crash early Sunday led to the arrest of a local man on charges including larceny and illegal firearm possession, police said.

Marcise Glover, 44, of Ansonia, told officers he lost control of the motorcycle while checking his phone on Division Street near Wakelee Avenue at 3:14 a.m. Sept. 1, according to the Ansonia Police Department.

Officers discovered the motorcycle had been reported stolen from Shelton.

They also found a 9mm handgun without a serial number in Glover’s backpack and a 9mm round in his pocket, police said.

Glover was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a pistol, failure to obtain a serial number, operating under suspension, distracted driving and failure to drive right.

He posted a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Sept. 16.
