BRADFORD — Vermont State Police arrested a fugitive wanted in New Hampshire on Saturday at a local motel.
Elvin Sweet, 48, of Bradford, was taken into custody at approximately 6 p.m. at the Bradford Motel, located at 379 Lower Plain.
Sweet had an active extraditable arrest warrant from New Hampshire for theft by unauthorized taking, a class B felony.
Authorities held Sweet without bail at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility.
The arrest was made by Vermont State Police officers responding to information about Sweet’s whereabouts.
No further details about the underlying New Hampshire charges were immediately available.
