DUMMERSTON — Vermont State Police arrested a 58-year-old man from Athens on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct at the West River Trail on Sept. 1.
Donald Gillespie was taken into custody after police received a report of the incident at approximately 3:44 p.m.
The alleged conduct occurred earlier that afternoon around 2:25 p.m. on the popular walking trail.
Gillespie is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on Sept. 3 at 12:30 p.m.
The Vermont State Police have not released any information regarding the victim in accordance with their policy on sexual assault and domestic violence cases.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not provided additional details about the incident.
