READING — Two South Weymouth residents were arrested and charged with operating under the influence following a reported altercation at a local gas station, police said.

Officers responded to the gas station on Walkers Brook Drive on Aug. 24 around 6:42 p.m. Upon arrival, Reading Police witnessed the suspects’ vehicle departing the scene and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, identified as Sherri Banks, 58, was alone in the car at the time of the stop.

An initial investigation revealed that Michael Fasulo, 53, had driven the vehicle to the gas station with Banks as a passenger.

Authorities determined both Banks and Fasulo were operating under the influence at separate times during the evening.

Banks and Fasulo were taken into custody without incident.

They were arraigned in Woburn District Court on Aug. 26.

Fasulo faces charges of OUI liquor and not having his license in possession, while Banks has been charged with OUI liquor.

As per the legal system, both suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
