Vernon police dog sniffs out suspect in domestic disturbance

VERNON — Vernon Police Department officers were called to a domestic disturbance near Talcottville Road and Pleasant View Drive on Aug. 30 at about 11 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the suspect had fled the scene on foot.

K9 Franco, a member of the Vernon Police Department, was brought to assist in the search.

The police dog successfully tracked the suspect, finding the individual hiding in the bed of a truck in the vicinity.

The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody without further incident, thanks to the quick and effective work of K9 Franco.

The incident remains under investigation, and the identity of the suspect has not yet been released.
