Bethel sandwich shop hit by overnight burglary

BETHEL — A local business fell victim to a burglary in the overnight hours between Aug. 30 and Aug. 31, resulting in stolen goods and property damage.

David Sambor, owner of the Bethel Village Sandwich Shop located at 269 Main Street, reported the break-in after an employee arrived to find the front door forcibly entered.

Vermont State Police from the Royalton Barracks were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 31.

The thief or thieves made off with a small amount of change from the cash register and various cold cut meats.

Damage to the store is estimated to be in the hundreds of dollars.
