Townshend man arrested for domestic assault, unlawful restraint

TOWNSHEND — Vermont State Police arrested a Guilford man on charges of aggravated domestic assault, unlawful restraint, and criminal threatening following an incident at a residence in Townshend.

Authorities were called to a home on Shirley Circle on Aug. 31 at 6:44 p.m. after receiving a report of an individual being abused and held against their will since Aug. 29.

The investigation led to the arrest of 47-year-old Randy Jacobs, who is accused of physically assaulting, restraining, and strangling his partner.

Jacobs was taken into custody without incident and is being held without bail at Southern State Correctional Facility.

He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 12:30 p.m. to face the charges.
