Wilmington man charged with OUI after running red light in Reading

READING — A Wilmington man was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and a red light violation after being stopped by police on Aug. 9.

Nathan Nelson, 41, was driving a gray 2022 GMC Canyon when he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Main Street and Woburn Street around 9:50 p.m., according to the Reading Police Department.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and conducted a field sobriety test, which indicated that Nelson was almost twice over the legal alcohol limit with a blood alcohol level of .149.

Nelson was taken into custody without incident and was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Aug. 12.
