Fugitive in Vermont homicide case arrested in New Hampshire

LISBON — A man wanted for a Vermont homicide was arrested Wednesday by the New Hampshire State Police.

Paul Lachapelle Jr., 28, of Littleton, was taken into custody on a fugitive from justice warrant.

The arrest took place on Aug. 28.

The warrant for Lachapelle’s arrest was connected to the death of Justin Gilliam, found deceased on June 6, 2022, on Greeley Road in Springfield.

Lachapelle faces charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

Currently held at the Grafton County Jail, Lachapelle is scheduled for arraignment on Aug. 29 at Littleton District Court.

The New Hampshire State Police were aided by the Littleton Police Department and U.S. Probation and Parole in the apprehension.
