SOUTH WINDSOR — A local woman was arrested Monday night on charges including operating under the influence after police say she ran a red light and collided with another vehicle, injuring two people.

Amanda M. Staron, 25, of Portland, was taken into custody around 9:45 p.m. following the accident at the intersection of Ellington Road and Chapel Road, according to the South Windsor Police Department.

Officers who responded to the scene determined that Staron had driven through the traffic signal and struck a vehicle, causing injuries to the driver and passenger.

Staron was also suspected of drinking while driving and failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests administered by the officers.

Staron was processed and released on a $2,000 non-surety bond.

She is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.
