NORTHFIELD — Vermont State Police responded to a reported dispute at a Vine Street residence Monday night, where they arrested 40-year-old Jerry Forrest on a charge of domestic assault.
Officials say the incident occurred at approximately 8:51 p.m. when police were called to the scene.
After an investigation, authorities determined that Forrest had committed the crime of domestic assault.
The victim, a 41-year-old Northfield resident, was not named by police, adhering to privacy policies regarding victims of domestic violence.
Forrest was taken into custody and transported to the Berlin Barracks following the arrest.
He was later released with conditions that he appear in the Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division the following day, Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the allegation.
