Motorcycle crash in Greenville leaves one dead, another seriously injured

GREENVILLE — A fatal motor vehicle crash claimed the life of a Hudson man and left another person seriously injured on Aug. 24 at the intersection of Fitchburg Road and Wilton Road.

At around 12:26 p.m., Greenville Police Department officers responded to the scene where a 2012 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, operated by Raymond Russell Jr., 56, collided with a 2013 Subaru Legacy driven by Cole Gibson, 23, of New Ipswich.

The motorcycle was heading south on Fitchburg Road when the Subaru, coming from Old Wilton Road, turned left onto Fitchburg Road, leading to the collision with the motorcycle on the driver’s side of the Subaru.

Russell succumbed to his injuries following the crash.

The motorcycle passenger sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Gibson was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and subsequently released.

The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, assisted by Troopers from Troop B, have been called upon by the Greenville Police Department to investigate the incident.

Authorities are still looking into the cause of the crash.
