CHITTENDEN — On August 18, at approximately 1:39 p.m., Vermont State Police troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a reported assault at a residence on Chittenden Road.
The investigation revealed that Joseph Marro, 62, of Chittenden, allegedly caused bodily injury to a family or household member.
Details regarding the nature of the injuries or the circumstances of the assault were not released in accordance with policies protecting victims of domestic violence.
Marro was apprehended on August 21 and taken into custody.
He was transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.
Following his arrest, Marro was released and is scheduled to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division, to respond to the charges against him.
The Vermont State Police have not released further details about the victim or the arrest.
The case remains under investigation.
