BROWNINGTON — The Old Stone House Museum and historic village will host “An Evening of Jazz” on Aug. 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. to benefit the conservation of Orleans County historical artifacts.

The concert, featuring String of Sheeps, will take place at the Brownington Village Congregational Church. Cellist Melissa Perley and saxophonist Tom Frink comprise the duo, known for their blend of classical, jazz, and folk influences.

Following the performance, a catered reception will be held at the Samuel Read Hall House. Attendees can enjoy local refreshments while pianist Mark Violette plays the William Bourne Square Grand Piano.

Proceeds will go towards restoring items including 19th-century portraits of Derby pioneers Timothy and Phebe Hinman, and a large Uncle Tom’s Cabin advertisement found in Newport.

Early bird tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members until Aug. 21, after which prices increase by $5. More information is available on the museum’s website.
