Milford motel staff find unresponsive infant, police investigate

MILFORD — Milford Police responded to an emergency call from the Mayflower Motel at 11:06 a.m. Monday, after cleaning staff discovered an unresponsive infant in the bathtub of a vacated room.

Upon arrival, officers performed CPR on the infant until paramedics arrived and took over resuscitative efforts.

The infant was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital but was pronounced dead at 11:56 a.m.

The Milford Police Department’s detectives and the Milford State’s Attorney’s Office have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

No further information has been released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the inquiry.
