Enosburgh man arrested for aggravated assault on neighbor

ENOSBURGH — A local man was arrested Monday evening for an alleged assault on his neighbor that occurred over the weekend, Vermont State Police said.

Authorities took Felton Lafontaine, 43, into custody at his home on Pleasant View Drive at 8:36 p.m. after an investigation into an incident reported on Saturday night.

According to police, Roger Robitaille, 63, also of Enosburgh, was the victim of an assault by Lafontaine on Saturday at approximately 10:22 p.m. at Robitaille’s residence at 91 Pleasant View Drive.

Robitaille required hospital treatment for injuries sustained during the altercation.

Following the assault report, police launched an investigation which led to Lafontaine’s arrest two days later.

Lafontaine is currently being held on charges of aggravated assault.

The Vermont State Police have not released further details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
