FAIR HAVEN — A local man was taken into custody by the Fair Haven Police Department on Aug. 17 for allegedly violating a court-issued abuse prevention order.

John M. Partch, 53, was arrested after police responded to a call at a residence on Washington Street.

The investigation found that Partch was present at the home, breaching the terms of a relief from abuse order that had been granted by the Rutland Family Court in May.

Sgt. Dale Kerber, the investigating officer, reported that Partch was apprehended without incident.

Following his arrest, Partch was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center due to the lack of bail set for his release.

The Fair Haven Police Department continues to uphold the enforcement of legal protections for individuals affected by domestic issues, ensuring that court orders such as relief from abuse are strictly observed.
