SOUTH WINDSOR — A local man was arrested on charges of operating under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane after his vehicle struck a guardrail on Main Street, police said.
Justin E. Noster, 34, of East Hartford, was taken into custody on the evening of Aug. 9 after South Windsor Police Department officers observed his vehicle speeding northbound through the intersection of Main Street and Sullivan Avenue.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m.
Following the accident, officers conducted an investigation and determined Noster appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
He failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was subsequently arrested.
Noster was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Aug. 26 at 9 a.m.
In a separate incident on Aug. 10, Victor T. Smith, 34, also of East Hartford, was arrested on charges of burglary in the first degree and criminal mischief in the third degree after allegedly removing a stove from a residence for sale on 278 Main Street.
Police responded to the call at about 8:15 p.m. after a neighbor reported the suspicious activity.
Smith was located, arrested, and held on a $25,000 surety bond.
He appeared in court on Aug. 12.
Additionally, on Aug. 14, Nelson Colon-Davila, 23, of Hartford, was arrested on an active warrant related to a November burglary at the Valero Gas Station on 180 Sullivan Avenue.
DNA evidence linked Colon-Davila to the crime.
He was processed and appeared in Manchester Superior Court the same day as he was already in state custody on unrelated charges.
