NORTHUMBERLAND — A serious motor vehicle accident early Monday morning left one passenger severely injured and prompted a search for the driver who was later found during a traffic stop.
The Northumberland Police Department responded to a report of a crash at about 5:30 a.m. on Page Hill Road near Lost Nation Road, where they discovered a silver Ford Taurus that had veered off the road and collided with several trees.
Emergency personnel extricated the injured passenger from the vehicle.
The driver had fled the scene but was located a few hours later.
Authorities have not released the names of the suspect or the victim.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and police are appealing to the public for any information related to the incident.
