Major crash on I-91in North Haven causes severe traffic delays

NORTH HAVEN — A major collision involving a car and a tractor-trailer on Interstate 91 North near exit 11 occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 16, causing significant traffic disruptions.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene shortly after the incident, where a vehicle was found to have rear-ended a semi, ending up lodged halfway under the trailer’s rear.

At least one occupant of the car was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The extent of the injuries remains unknown.

Connecticut State Police (CSP) are currently on the scene managing traffic and investigating the cause of the collision.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and to seek alternate routes if possible.

Mikes Automotive has been dispatched to the scene to assist with clearing the wreckage and to help restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.
