Putney man arrested on active warrant after traffic stop

PUTNEY — On Aug. 16, at approximately 6:19 p.m., Vermont State Police troopers initiated a traffic stop on I-91 near mile marker 17 for a vehicle infraction.

The stop led to the arrest of 37-year-old Christopher Billetdeaux from Putney, who was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant.

During the stop, officers conducted an investigation which revealed Billetdeaux’s active warrant.

He was taken into custody without resistance and was subsequently transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Following court orders, Billetdeaux was held on $100 bail.

Billetdeaux is scheduled to appear before the court for the warrant charges on the next business day at 12:30 p.m.

Specific charges related to the warrant have not been disclosed at this time.
