Rockingham County sheriff arrests woman on sexual assault charges

RAYMOND — After a comprehensive investigation, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office apprehended 40-year-old Penni McIntyre of Raymond on Friday, Aug. 9, on multiple sexual assault charges.

High Sheriff Charles Massahos announced the arrest, stating that McIntyre was initially held without bail at the Rockingham County Jail.

Following her arraignment on Monday, she was released on personal recognizance bail.

McIntyre faces two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and one count of felonious sexual assault, all allegedly committed while in a position of authority.

As the investigation continues, authorities anticipate that additional charges may be filed.
