Lewiston woman hospitalized, suspect arrested in early morning shooting

LEWISTON — A woman was seriously injured in a shooting early on Aug. 16, according to the Lewiston Police Department.

Officers responded around 2 a.m. to reports of gunfire at 100 Blake St. Upon arrival, they found a 46-year-old female with a gunshot wound.

The victim received immediate aid from the officers before being transported to a local hospital.

She is expected to survive her injuries.

The Criminal Investigation Division took over the case, leading to the arrest of 34-year-old SirWarrior Greene of Worcester, Massachusetts.

Greene faces multiple charges, including Domestic Violence Elevated Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Reckless Conduct with a Firearm, and Falsifying Physical Evidence.

Greene was booked into the Androscoggin County Jail and is being held without bail pending a court hearing.

Authorities confirmed the recovery of a handgun at the scene, which had been reported stolen.

Police have assured the community that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
