SCITUATE — Two Rhode Island residents were taken into custody on separate charges, according to the State Police.

On July 15, at 9:45 a.m., Troopers apprehended Elijah Cyr, 21, of Cranston, for an active court bench warrant related to a failure to appear for an arraignment.

The original charge was driving with a suspended license as per the Providence Police Department.

Cyr’s arrest occurred when Troopers responded to the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal and took him into custody.

He was then transported to State Police Headquarters for processing and later to Sixth Division District Court for his arraignment.

Later that same day, at 11:58 p.m., Tyson Phetsayakhoth, 25, of Woonsocket, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 146 in Lincoln.

Phetsayakhoth faces charges for possession of over two ounces of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, specifically less than ten grams of psilocybin.

After being processed at State Police Headquarters, he was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released, with a future arraignment date set for Third Division District Court.
