Guilford man charged with domestic assault, resisting arrest

GUILFORD — A local man was arrested Thursday evening after Vermont State Police responded to a domestic assault report at a residence on Coolidge Highway.

At approximately 5:55 p.m., authorities were called to the scene where they found evidence that Scott Kent, 47, had struck a member of his household.

When officers attempted to take Kent into custody, he resisted arrest.

Kent was subsequently issued a citation to appear in Windham Criminal Division of the Vermont Superior Court on Aug. 19 at 12:30 p.m. to face charges of domestic assault and resisting arrest.

He was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,000 and given Conditions of Release.

The Vermont State Police have withheld the name of the victim in accordance with policies to protect individuals involved in domestic violence cases.
