Barnstead police seek man in Dollar General theft

BARNSTEAD — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of shoplifting from a local Dollar General store.

The Barnstead Police Department released a statement requesting assistance in locating a man who allegedly left the store without paying for several items.

The incident occurred earlier this week, and the man was last seen exiting the store and driving away in a red four-door sedan heading south on Rt 28.

Officer Cookinham has been assigned to investigate the case and is urging anyone with information about the identity of the man or any details about the incident to contact the Barnstead Police Department at 603-269-8100.

The department has not released any further details about the items taken or the value of the theft.

Community members are encouraged to come forward with any information that could lead to the resolution of this case.
