WATERFORD — Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a woman suspected of repeated shoplifting incidents in Waterford and possibly in the Massapequa Park area of New York.

On Aug. 10, the unidentified woman allegedly stole six silk pillowcases valued at $555 from a local store.

Authorities report she left the premises without any attempt to pay for the items.

The Waterford Police Department has also linked her to a previous theft in December last year but has yet to confirm her identity.

In an effort to apprehend the suspect and prevent future thefts, Waterford police are extending their reach to New York, believing the suspect may be active in the Massapequa Park area.

Officer Robinson of the Waterford Police Department is leading the investigation and urges anyone with information to come forward.

Witnesses or those with knowledge of the suspect’s identity can contact Officer Robinson at 860-442-9451 ext. 2268 or via email at [email protected].

Tips can also be submitted through private messaging on the department’s official communication channels.

The department is particularly interested in hearing from individuals in Massapequa, Long Island, who may have seen or recognized the suspect.

Community members are encouraged to leave comments or reach out directly to the Waterford Police if they have any relevant information that could assist in the case.
